About Me
Love and Colours
Rebecca Dalla Rosa
I paint motifs with colors that shine and playful little stories, because I think there is enough darkness in the world.
I was born and grew up in Melbourne, Australia, I went to live in London for a while and met my Danish husband, Stephan. The contrast in landscapes from Europe to Australia is vast but also familiar… everywhere one goes I try to relate it to somewhere in my knowledge, commonly to my childhood.
Back when I first met Stephan, we lived in Copenhagen, a town called Valby, and this is where I started to paint and sell my paintings – It was the beginning of ‘Maid In Valby’.
In 2012 we moved to Australia, I did a number of art shows and exhibitions, including having my paintings at Sorrento Fine Art Gallery and Noel’s Gallery. While exhibing my art at a architecture company, Finley Roberts, thieves broke into the building and stole one of my paintings! They must of had good taste.
In June of 2018, my world was rocked, when I had a stroke. It was due to a hole in my heart. It took some years to recover, in fact, every stroke is so different, you don’t recover you re-build and allow yourself space. My confidence in me and in my paintings was low, but in time it would come around again, finding myself and my art work. My artwork has mildly changed, the brain behind it is healing and the heart has a teeny-tiny umbrella put into it to stop it from leaking, and I have so much love to put into my paintings.
Today I find myself living in Denmark, I have had an exhibition at a company called Actulux, where I have sold 14 of my paintings.
Life is not always sweet but there are some gems along the way, remember to see them, they are for you.

Commissions

I also do commissions, where you have an idea of what you would like in the painting and I then put it together.
You will need a photograph of the people /animals and then I would produce a rough sketch and ‘voila’ the painting.
These are a few of the commissions that I had the privilege in painting.
Tracey and Alexander
Acrylic on Canvas 80cm X 60cm
Tracey came to me to paint a picture of herself and her baby boy, Alexander. She loved an element in a painting that I had previously did, the dandelion blowing in the wind, and I decided to add that. The two of them had matching fingers, the little one sticks out a little of which I also added.
It conveys the loving warmth of a mother and her child.
Picking Beets on Hillside
Acylic on canvas 75cm X 75cm
A picture for the clients mum for her birthday. Featuring the mum and her husband picking beetroots in their yard - doing something that they love.
I was given some photos of the husband and wife and I drew a sketch for the client with which she was happy and got the ‘green light’ to paint.
Wedding Wishes
Acrylic on Canvas 120cm X 80cm
This one is of myself, on my wedding day with my husband, Stephan.
I painted this as the one year anniversary gift to my partner. This day was full of love and joy.
Three Daughters
Acrylic on Canvas 100cm X 100cm
The client, Jens, wanted a painting of his 3 daughters to hang up in his office. He provided me with some photos of the 3 girls. Jens told me that outside of his daytime work he is a farmer - working on the fields growing canola and a range of various crops. Jens loves ‘John Deer’ tractors, as he requested that one of his tractors feature in the painting.
I provided some sketches of which he was super happy with one and told me to continue. The painting is of the three daughters each of them having a good time together and the ‘John Deer’ tractor is in the background signifying that he always is looking out for them.
Family Tree
Acrylic on Canvas 100cm X 100cm
Katrine and Mjølner wanted a family portrait, which included their son Saxe, and daughter Lue, who has special needs. They didnt have any requests for the painting, I would surprise them with it in the end.
I painted them huddled around a plant which is still growing, nurturing it with love and cusioty. Katrine is wearing a Chinese dress as it was in China that she met Mjølner and their love grew. “This is one of our most treasured possessions” - KatrineMango Tree
Acrylic on Canvas 150cm X 100m
This was a birthday gift for the eldest sibling of the DeRoche clan and it features all of their family, 5 girls and their parents.
The girls had a 4 year age gap between them. One of their fondest memories was family holidays to Mexico to visit their grandma, in which they would play around a mango tree, with fans, eating its ripe fruit. Their father was a talented musician and lover of all things musical and creative.
I produced a sketch which they were happy with. The final painting conveys the mischievous and care-free nature of the girls with a loving mother and father who are the happy-go-lucky grounded force of their family. “It’s such a beautiful painting” - The DeRoche familyContact Me
